Santa Rosa, CA – (November 12, 2024) - Exchange Bank has partnered with the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLBank San Francisco) and its AHEAD Economic Development Grant Program to provide a significant grant to The Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) in Petaluma.

COTS received a grant of $53,624 to support Mary’s Table Emergency Food Services Intern Program, a six-month internship for individuals who have experienced homelessness to learn culinary skills in COTS’ commercial kitchen. Participants will receive training, complete a food handlers' certification, and increase their employability with soft skills.

The AHEAD program enables FHLBank San Francisco members like Exchange Bank to give a critical boost to local programs and projects that target pressing community needs and bring greater opportunity to underserved populations. “Exchange Bank is proud to participate in the AHEAD grant program, helping to make a positive impact in our local community,” said Troy Sanderson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Exchange Bank and past board member of COTS. “It aligns directly with the bank’s mission of supporting local underserved groups.”

AHEAD grants are awarded annually and delivered through the Bank’s member financial institutions to local community organizations for projects and programs that benefit lower-income and underserved communities. The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco awarded $7.3 million in 2024 to support 84 nonprofit organizations dedicated to strengthening communities across Arizona, California, and Nevada. Delivered in partnership with its member financial institutions, FHLBank San Francisco's AHEAD Program has funded over $32 million in grants over the past two decades.
